This letter was written by one of our many families in Mexico. She was trying to find the sponsor who had helped revive her faith and give back meaning to her life. The translation goes like this:
“November 2, 2002
Dear Sponsor –
This humble paper is perhaps not sufficient for what I want to say and what I must tell you. Although I only know you through familia Corazón, “my family,” I would like to meet you, even if it is only through a picture, since you form the most important part of my heart, and do you know what that is? My life. You who are the seed of the fruit that I plant, the great strength of my fist, the most important thing in my universe, the light that lights up my sky – this is you and Corazón. Since Corazón arrived in my life and became part of my life, I feel strong and with the motivation to keep going ahead. I wish I had an album with the families that make up the single one that is “familia Corazón”, and I want to know them and have the pleasure of having them one day here in my house, which is ‘their’ home, whenever they would like to come. Please, I would very much like to know from whom we receive this assistance.
I
confess that when I was so very confused and so incredulous and discouraged
about life, at times I believed that God did not exist. Then you appeared
and I believed more in God. I asked him for forgiveness for everything, and
I am sorry because now I see and feel it in each one of your hearts; because
if it weren’t true, you wouldn’t try to look out for the everyone’s needs.

Even through the translation, the poetry in her soul expresses the profound gratitude for the difference Corazón has made in her life. When we went to the computer to find out whom we should send this remarkable letter to, we discovered she had no sponsor—she is one of the many families who are sponsored through our general fund.
