Our goal is to create Community Centers in every community. Community centers are integral to the comunidad Corazón program and provide the following services
* Facilitate basic skills training within the community (i.e. to bring knowledge and practice to those who have nowhere else to obtain these skills), and teach skills that raise quality of life.
* Provide childcare so parents become more capable of working outside the home, to further support the family, while stimulating the children’s natural desire to learn.
* Furnish a library facility for reading with children, and for adult reading reference.
* Store a cache of emergency supplies and equipment in the event of a disaster.
* Provide a community social center that serves to build bonds among area residents.
* Offer volunteers and
interns the opportunity to spend multiple days in Mexico by having a
dormitory and bathrooms with showers available.
